CPR training for nurses, how often is it necessary?
Employers may have specific requirements for maintaining current CPR status as a condition of employment. Nurses nurse5should use their professional judgment when deciding to maintain current CPR certification, taking into consideration whether they are employed in patient care settings in which CPR may be necessary to resuscitate a client.
So when people ask the question… CPR training for Nurses, how often is it necessary? then I have to answer by saying that most jobs will only require a current certification every two years. Therefore it is very necessary to find out what your specific job requires.
It is usually up to the individual to keep their skills up during that two year period. Most people began to loose some skills even within a few weeks or a few months if the skill is not used regularly.
If your/their certification expires then a beginning Certification course will be required to re-establish your/themselves. health care
If this happens, all is not lost… it will however, take a little more time and cost a bit more if certified outside the workplace. If the individual works at a hospital then this is typically provided to employees for free if done within the workplace. All things considered and if of coarse the individual has not been suspended due to non-certification. Then in that case, you better call me and lets get that taken care of right away.
So what happens if you are suspended for non-certification? I’m so glad you asked… That is a totally different scenario and if you usually get your certification through your work place and they pay you for going to the class they provide. Chances are they will not pay you while on suspension or even allow you to attend.
You can already see how serious this certification thing is and how serious they take it. I could go into detail why this is so important to your employer, especially if you work for a hospital, but that is going way off coarse here. If you however would like to pay me for taking the “Why won’t the Hospital pay me to take a CPR course, while I’m suspended” Course then let me know and I can teach you that one too.
